About the event

Topic: Human-sensing buildings for better sustainability and energy efficiency

Speaker: Wooyoung Jung

Description: The presenter aims to realize human-in-the-loop control of building systems since his Ph.D. studies. The current temperature of a thermal zone measured by a thermostat does not represent how occupants experience the thermal environment, and he, for example, investigated to leverage human physiological responses to correctly measure/predict indoor thermal comfort. He will also introduce his recent research at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, aiming to quantify energy saving potentials by implementing occupancy-centric HVAC operations and financially calculate the productivity improvements by IEQ.
